Pets with Vomiting
And/or Diarrhea
Gastroenteritis Protocol
Withhold food and water for 4 hours, if no vomiting - give a small sip of water, wait an hour to give another sip of water. If no vomiting has occurred after 4 hours of sipping water, you can offer a tablespoon of bland diet. If your dog keeps this down, you can increase portions hourly. Keep on bland diet (recipe below) for 4 days and gradually switch back to her normal dog food.
Bland Diet:
1/2 lb of lean ground beef cooked & rinsed.
Mix with 2 cups cooked white rice.
Can add a little chicken bouillon or chicken baby food for flavor.
Feed several VERY small feedings in frequent intervals, gradually increasing the amount if it is kept down. If bland diet is tolerated for 1-2 days, start mixing in regular diet, weaning pet back onto regular food.
If symptoms persist longer than 24 hours, it is advised your pet be seen for an examination.

In a plastic bucket, mix well the following ingredients:
1 quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/2 box of baking soda
1 to 2 teaspoons Lysol soap

In a plastic bucket, mix well the following ingredients:
1 quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/2 box of baking soda
1 to 2 teaspoons Dawn soap
For very large pets one quart of tepid tap water may be added to enable complete coverage.
Wash pet promptly and thoroughly, work the solution deep into the fur. Let your nose guide you, leave the solution on about 5 minutes or until the odor is gone. Some heavily oiled areas may require a "rinse and repeat" washing.
Skunks usually aim for the face, but try to keep the solution out of the eyes - it stings. If you have any cuts on your hands you might want to wear latex gloves for the same reason.
After treatment, thoroughly rinse your pet with tepid tap water.
Pour the spent solution down the drain with running water.
NEVER, ever, store mixed solution in a closed bottle, sprayer, etc. Pressure will build up until the container bursts. This can cause severe injury.
We gladly accept these major credit cards
