In 2001, Prelesnik Animal Hospital opened in a renovated barn on the site of the old “Kieft Celery Farm.” Nestled in a cozy setting, our staff of nine strives to create a comfortable atmosphere for their many wonderful patients and pet owners.

With many years of experience, Dr. Sarah Prelesnik and Dr. Jeremy Hutchinson are veterinarians who pet owners can depend on for quality care for their pets. This is a one-stop animal clinic that will take care of your entire dog and cat needs, including exams, vaccinations, cold laser therapy, and laser surgery.

The professional and courteous staff is dedicated to providing the best health care services for your pet. Promoters of responsible pet ownership, they seek to educate owners on the benefits of continued veterinary care.

Dr. Sarah Prelesnik

Veterinarian
Dr. Prelesnik's Bio

Dr. Sarah Prelesnik grew up in Muskegon, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Prelesnik Animal Hospital was founded in 2001 in its current building. She currently lives in Grand Haven with her husband, Steve, daughter, Kirsten, who attends MSU, and her son, Steven. Her rescue pets include Lincoln, Anastasia, Leonardo, and Breslin.

Dr. Jeremy Hutchinson

Veterinarian
Dr. Hutchinson's Bio

Dr. Hutchinson graduated from Michigan State University in 2000 with his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, he moved south, where he worked for several years. However, being a west Michigan native, he moved home to the Grand Rapids area in 2004, and he has since continued to practice veterinary medicine. When he is not busy loving animals, Dr. Hutchinson enjoys spending time with his daughter, Hannah, cooking, reading, and watching classic films. Some of his favorite hobbies include enjoying the outdoors, sailing, and paddle boarding.

Dr. Calla Spillane

Veterinarian

Dr. Spillane's Bio
Dr. Calla grew up in southeastern Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan for her undergraduate education, majoring in Biomolecular Science. She then went on to attend veterinary school at the University of Illinois. She is excited to join the team at Prelesnik Animal Hospital and be back in Michigan. Dr. Calla enjoys the variety of cases general practice brings and promoting preventative care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Calla enjoys reading, baking, watching cheesy Hallmark movies, downhill skiing, and all things Disney. She has two longhaired miniature dachshunds, Minnie and Willow. She looks forward to getting to know the west side of Michigan!

Caitlyn graduated from Baker College in 2017 with an associate degree in applied science and has been working in the veterinary field since graduating college. She lives at home with her husband, four cats, and a dog. In her spare time, she likes to bike long distances recreationally.

Brittany's Bio

Brittany graduated from Baker College of Muskegon in 2016, with an associate degree in applied science. Her love of animals began as a child, when her parents became wildlife rehabilitators. From there, her passion for animals has only grown. She enjoys gardening and hiking with her two dogs, Dexter and Butters.

Olivia Sharier

Veterinary Assistant

Olivia's Bio
Olivia loves all animals, especially cats. She first began her animal career by being a kennel tech. And has since worked hard to become a veterinary technician. She currently lives in Grand Haven with boyfriend, Evan and 2 cats, Jax and Nora. Plus a few smaller critters, like Kato the bearded dragon and Marbles the hamster. In her free time, she loves to kayak, swim, and lay out on the beach.

Kassie knew from a very young age that she would be working with animals in her future. She started working as a Kennel Tech at a shelter and really enjoyed learning and caring for the animals there. Working in this field brings her a lot of joy. She is currently enrolled in school to become an L.V.T. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing and spending time with her boyfriend.

Deanna's Bio

Deanna has been working in the veterinary field since 2020 and knew since she was a child she was going to be working with animals. She lives in Spring Lake with her fiancé, Zane and daughter, Kohana. She owns an Irish setter named Mel and a German shepherd named Tadashi. In her free time she likes to go for walks and draw.

Emma's Bio

Emma started at Prelesnik in October of 2022 when her and her fiancé at the time had just moved from metro Detroit to Grand Haven together. She started her veterinary assistant position in January of 2021 and has since been pursuing the veterinary technician degree through Penn Foster to become an LVT. Emma has grown up with a variety of animals throughout her life which has further driven her passion and love for veterinary medicine and animal behavior. In her free time, Emma loves to venture hiking trails and explore new parks with her now husband, Nicholas, and her Aussie pooch, Rosie!

Brandon's Bio

Brandon joined the Prelesnik team in 2023 as a CSR. He has a background in management and continuous improvement and is  dedicated to making sure all of our clients feel comfortable and well-cared for during their visits. In his personal life, Brandon is an avid gamer, a huge hockey fan and loves bowling with friends and family. He lives in Muskegon with his wife, Lissa and his cat, Ween.

Nichole has been working in the veterinary industry since 2018 and has been a professional groomer for over 10 years. She has two spoiled pets, Rodger, a lab/springer mix and Rue, a tuxedo cat.
